Brad, if you're talking about the FA, I have this lens, and I have used it for portraiture. I was expecting a bit of the 'too sharp' look (not so nice for females, and I normally use a softer lens), but it actually turned out to be a very good choice. I used it with a simple light setup and got

Speaking of flash meters, I just purchased a set of studio lights and I'm searching for a flash meter. Has anyone used anything from the Sekonic line? They seem to be reasonably priced, but I don't want to trade price for decent quality if I can help it. You don't need to spend a whack of money

I believe it was the EOS 620 (or something to that effect) -- I have a friend with that body who also has a power-zoom compatible lens. It seemed nice at first, but it was a bit slow, especially for things like sports. Of course, that could be because his camera was older and had seen a pretty

I have this particular lens, and I've been very pleased with it. It's build quality is a few steps above their typical consumer stuff -- it's pretty solid, and the price on it used was very reasonable. It is a little bit mushy around the edges at 20 wide open, otherwise I've been happy with its
