Eg
the 28mm 3.5 smc m42 optically equals the 28mm 3.5 smc k versions
the 135mm 2.5 smc m42 = 135mm smc k?

looking at the popphoto website i came across the test for the Sigma 24-70mm
UC and 24-70mm EX. according to the charts it appears that the $100 UC lens
is signficantly better than the $350 EX version especially with prints
around the larger size.
it also scores higher than the EX version on the
Is this a good lens optically? I am comparing it to the tokina atx 28-80mm
and Sigma 28-70mm and tamron 28-105mm. Much distortion at the 24mm end, is
flare well controlled.
thanks for the replies
these are the 3 i have found on ebay and i take it from the respnses that
the 80mm would be the best to have tilt with am i correct or would the 35mm
be the better one??
i see canon has a tilt shift 24mm what would tht be good for?
Ok i have decided on a pentax 28mm f2.0
what would be a good price for each of the version
i saw an m version go on ebay for $200 plus about 3 months ago
is that about the price i will pay
thanks
i like a lot of the features on the af500 such as multiple flash etc
but i like the 360s high speed sync
does the 360 have multiple flashes?
i would like both but the wife has limited me to one.
i noticed that there is a 500mm on ebay at the moment.
what would be a good price? Is 100mm a lot of difference? noticeable?
anyone used one or both of these lenses?
thanks
how does the sigma compare? mainly in the area of shrpness and flare
control?
thanks
only issue i have with this is when you are capturing a sunset-you dont have
the time

anyone tried it
apparently it stops down to f64
any good
http://home.t-online.de/home/e.a.seubert/bastel_2020k.htm
is there any way?
just out of curiosity i tried my tamron 17mm hood on my pentax fa 20mm and
it fits. i am assuming that the fa 24mm f2 is the same size so therefore it
would fit too. i now mount a b+w 82mm polariser in the hood permanetly well
it means one less polariser to carry.
also as the 20mm only comes with
going to stick with a vivitar 28mm f2 which cost me $10 Aus new in box and
try and get a 24mm f2

is this a new version
i currently use the 43mm limted and love it
however it becomes a 65mm with 43mm perspective on the new dslr. i love
using depth of field and a very bright viewfinder so my choices are:
vivitar 28mm 1.9 series 1 **
vivitar 28mm 2.0 **
sigma 28mm 1.8
pentax 28mm 2.0
pentax 30mm 2.8
pentax 31mm
i think you have two other better choices for lenses
the tamron 400mm f4 adaptall - the best lens i have used with the af 1.7
convertor
or the sigma 400mm apo macro-fantastic equal to pentax-closer focusing and i
have one for sale
email me off list
Found this at nikonians
.I use both Leica M series lenses as well as my Nikon gear, and there
are places where the Leica lenses excel and places where the differences are
not so clear. In my experience, f/8 is the great equalizer, so my favoring
the rangefinder lenses is usually at wider
about 4-5lbs or 2-3kgs is my setup preferablly light weight as well
prefer quick relaese plate
how long ago was the *ist announced and still no show on their site

subjective comments
very sharp, great bokeh almost 3d in appearance.
very useful range-the zooming macro is great for flowers and native plants.
also good for lizards and frogs in aquariums (larger ones lol)
i got this one for a cool $1500 Australia a couple of days ago. the first
means it is now a 600m f4 or 1020mm f7,5 with the af 1.7 convertor
mmm i am so happy
BTW sharper pictures than the pentax fa 300mm 4.5 but ever so heavy
all this excitement has left me wondering if leica and panosonic will
release a digital slr mm
heaven only if i could get pentax 43mm and 77mm in lecia r mount
got mine from Paul S about a month ago for about $200US

a good optic?
better than the rubinar

stick with a normal polariser or go a moose
heard that it was better than the 100mm 2.8 pentax macro. is this true? what
is a good price for such a lens and a source?
thanks

yet another useful item brought to you by the folks at ebay
and me cos if there is a bad item there i

from a nikon friend
Ok i have narrowed the field down to
Tamron adaptall 300mm f2.8 MF becomes semi autofocus 510mm f4.5 with 1.7x
adaptor (450mm 2.8 and 760mm 4.5 on digital)
Tamron adaptall 400mm f4 MFbecomes semi autofocus 680mm f7 with 1.7x adaptor
(600mm f4 and 1020mm f7 on digital)
Tokina 300mm 2.8 MFbecomes
just wondering cos connected to a macro 1:1 lens i belive that this would
give 3:1 magnification which is great for capturing ant smiles and facial
expressions. However i belive there would be a great 3 stop loss of light
my Japanese is aweful, is that a home made adaptor? or is it an extension
tube with eos mount on one side and k mount on the other? That would take
out infinity focus wouldn't it? I was told an k mount to eos mount adaptor
would not work becuase of the placement of the pentax apeture springs
I put my 300mm 4.5 FA zoom and teleplus2x convertor on my MZ-S and guess
what autofocus was fast and very accurate. Better and faster than my tokina
80-200mm zoom. I then got a little excited and tried a sigma 400mm macro 5.6
and provided it was bright sunlight it worked about 50% of the time and
After a well paid photo shoot I can now purchase a faster lens in the
200-300mm range. i already have the FA 300mm 4.5 and love it but at times
need something a little faster so a 300mm 2.8 would be great. Having said
that on a Dslr a 200mm with 1.5x sensor will be 300mm so does the 200mm 2.8
i recently burnt a selection of my digital photographs as an image to CD
with nero 5 now all i have on the CD is 635 meg size image but no way of
accessing files. Anyone know how? Cos this is my backup and my system
buggered up so these are the only copies i have.
i have noticed that on my latest group of photos back where i shot alot wide
open and stop down to 2.8
17mm adaptall - really good optically, very sharp, great resolution
especially from infinity ( im new to this but detail in the background is
really good and clear) it almost picks this up better tjhan the foreground
detail. Colours are a little subdued and it lacks some contrast. Focusing is
good
the vivitar was noticeability more saturated through the entire range.
Especailly at around f3.5 and F11. But from what i have heard that lens was
a hit and miss affair. Some were good and some were not. However the pentax
wins out because i can use it for sunsets and when ever the sun is low in
what would be a good price for this lens around $50 US
Let's imagine for a moment that Microsoft buys out C and N and made cameras.
Every year or two they would introduce new cameras and they would not accept
the same film, lenses, filters, flash units, tripods, batteries, etc. as the
previous version, and could not be modified to do so.
They would
