From what I've seen of the *ist-D and my experience with other Pentax bodies
including the MZ-S, *ist, etc. I'd like them to take the whole camera and put it in
an MZ-S style body. That camera feels just right.
They should put back the mechanical aperture mechanism, and perhaps they could
Pentax will probably do that when they find a good full frame chip that
doesn't price them completely out of the market. They were close to
producing the MZ-D, you know. They actually announced it and showed a
prototype.
The MZ-S is their current Flagship film camera. I don't think the *ist

This was one of the concerns I have wondered about, I do love my camera to
be big and chunky and to look like a professional camera rather than a toy

I probably wouldn't have bought the *ist D if it was larger. The
major reason that I have stuck with Pentax cameras is their small

Agree on the CF card door.
Agree on the green button location

Hello Tanya,
With the grip on, it looks professional. The grip is a necessary
option in my book. More battery life, better handling both portrait
and landscape and more professional looking, to boot.

My main point was that *I* have tiny, weeny hands (people comment on how
small they are all the time), and scrawny little arms, and yet even *I*

Christian asked: What DO you like about larger cameras?
In true, fairygirl fashion, Christian, I have no bloody idea! I just know
that I DO like them. Not huge like a MF camera or such, but at least
something that feels as though I am working when I use it. I don't know
why it is, I just
Hello Tanya,
I used a PZ-1p for quite a while and then MZ-S with vertical grip and
then 67II with wood grip (that is way big) and now the *istD. With
the vertical grip, it feels just great. More in size like a PZ-1p but
feels more ergonimic to me. The real nice thing about it is that

Return to the strap with the pockets
A minority opinion: I like the green button location.
I don't like the strap interfering with the CF flap. I have
no problem getting the CF card to eject.
The grip is a POS compared to the very fine MZ-S. Of the 4
grips I have used, in order of comfort and utility, I put
MZ-S 1st, PZ-1p
