Didn't really notice the egrets before but I see that one appears in

I must have been late for the actual sunset but I suspect the light would have
been difficult as everything would be in shadow. You'd need to be there at the

I have some sunset photos from there but they're not immediately handy. I

Endeavour looks like a dignified, well-used M3.
That's a good way of looking at it.
Was it loud?
Not really. The planes were flying pretty slowly, so there wasn't a
lot of engine noise that I noticed. This may be because

impressive shot; thanks for sharing such a large version, as it is fun to look

Awesome shot. I thought about trying to get up early, and driving over to
Mountain View to try and see it, but I ended up staying up until 4 playing with
the astrotracer.

My guess is that it has more to do with the planes being backlit and needing
to boost the shadows to get the dynamic
A great shot. A strange perspective I know, but whenever I see that
configuration I think of what a great aircraft the 747 is.

I am glad this set caused some positive emotions.
As for the pair, - I think I might be leaning toward the second one,
finally.

I had a short conference trip to Banff earlier this month.
Despite the weather not being at its best (drizzle or snow, with low
clouds [*]), and me not having proper clothes for that, I managed to
find some terrific views and even to take some photos..
Nice collection of pretty landscapes.
I like the second shot better than the first of the pair.
The wispy clouds are emphasized versus the evergreen branches covering the sky.

Glad you told me about the purity, I'd have thought the color was due to
the Canadian Government enhancing the lake with Cyan aniline dye.
The second is more dramatic, the first is a bit better balanced. I like
the second better. Drama in my landscapes not in my women, I always say.
