quite. For me, the focal length range is perfect for a walking around
lens and it has excellent close focusing. I do find it to be a bit soft
wide open but even at f5.6 that is resolved. With IR it creates a very

or the 18-55, in respects to the way it renders images. (Not to suggest
that the other lenses are inferior - they just have some hot spots when
it comes to IR.)

as I have ever experienced. I agree that I should play around with
the levels or curves to see if I can improve contrast. Having said
that, the current version preserves what I say, the old

I neglected to comment on the burnt highlights. In part, because I
didn't find them in the least offensive. The whites in the shot range
