And a K30/2.8 went for a bundle as well.
IIRC, over $250. (dojarek was the seller)
And it wasn't even a pristine example.

So, what do those prices suggest? Scarcity? Quality? Collector status?

I've been watching the FA 35/2 for awhile, and it seems to be scarcity that
drives its price. It seems to eternally be on back-order at BH.
The FA 20/2.8 is in stock at the moment, but unfortunately my liquidity is
on back order. :)

Are you suggesting, then, that it's scarcity that drives the price of K
lenses, or are you just commenting on the FA 35/2.0? And where does the FA
20/2.8 fit into this?

Normally, market demand drives prices. When it comes to eBay, ignorance
and dumbasses who bid
Not surprising, it's a fast 35mm the prices for these have always been
relatively high. The price is still very reasonable if you
compare it to the FA 35f2.

My belief is the relative scarcity of these two FA lenses has contributed to
higher used prices. I don't know what plan Pentax has for them, but they may
not command the same production resources as their other products.
Older glass isn't something I follow too closely. Given the choice between

I'm looking at eBay/KEH price trends, not PDML members who may be
pricing knowing they'd like lenses and cameras to go to good homes on
the list. ;-)

And, IIRC, my FA50/1.4 came from you last year @ a pretty modest price.
As a wise friend once instructed me:

It was readily available from Pentax Canada last month!

Well maybe I just need to broaden my search a bit! Thanks for the tip,
Andre.

A K30 f2.8 is listed at KEH at the bargain price of $349, so $250 for
Dojarek's lens on eBay doesn't look like such a bad deal...
