Oh, I don't find the computer mindset so strange, after all we are
all sitting here behind a keyboard. However only 0.1% of the
population are serious photographers, and it seems like about 1/2 of
that 0.1% are into Jazz. That has to be more than a coincidence.
Through jazz you see things...
Frank,
There is usually one laying about at GFMtn. If not, you could always pop it
into the sound system of my car. Pretty good sound, considering it is in a
car and is stock...
I enjoy jazz myself, along with a multitude of other types of music. Though
I must admit to being terrible in
Seems to be a lot of them on this list. Seems like there must be some sort of
connection between the photographic mind set, and the jazz music mindset.

I don't find either connection too surprising.
Jazz and photography are both free-expression art forms, so there

What do you mean by old?
You know, there are lots of kids (meaning younger than me... vbg) out
there who get much of their inspiration from people like Coltrane, Bird,
Evans, Davis, Monk. Listen to Micheal

This ~might~ be my favorite jazz album. While I have a recent CD, I also have the
original vinyl ;-)) I Love It! If you're not
familiar with it, may I strongly suggest you become so.
John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman ... check out the musicians ;-))
Shel, gettin' down to Hip-hop. I'd love to see that!!
Sheldon is in the hizzle!
LOL!
I gotta go eat now, but I have to respond to your last post later this

There are just not enough people out there supporting jazz musicians and
many of the really top-notch ones have to work day jobs. I remember glancing
up at the cab driver ID in Atlanta and telling the driver (who asked that I
not tell anyone what he was doing) that I had several of his recordings.

Just Googled Bill Evans. I was right in that he died in 1980. Turns out he
was only 51 (I was thinking that if he was in his early to mid-20's when he
rose to prominence, he couldn't have been in his 60's when he died - that's
why I checked).
