make a significant improvement in my

appreciated.

As someone else has indicated, it might be interesting to know exactly
which old lenses you think are much poorer than the DA range.
I don't know, but I've been complemented on the sharpness of the F
70-210 f4.0~5.6 and the FA 20-35 f4.0. That may change when I get a
higher resolution camera, (I'm still using *ist-D[x] bodies), but a good
lens seems to be a good lens.

I should like to agree here.
My film limited lenses are swell on digital. Naturally, I should never
want even to think about mounting DA 21 on my MZ-6.

My film lenses are fine on digital, but the DA* lenses are
outstanding. I rarely use anything other than the 50-135 and 16-50
these days. They're fast and sharp, and the USM autofocus beats the
screwdriver autofocus system hands down.

Far less fringing is the most obvious advantage of the DA* lenses in
terms of image quality. Sharpness and resolution are great, but I
obviously haven't made specific and direct comparisons. But as I
noted, DA* autofocus is considerably better as well, particularly in
continuous mode

I may add that a Samsung manager said the following to the audience on
occasion of their press conference in Cologne:
1) The technical partnership with Pentax is going ahead. Samsung never
discussed the possibility to buy Pentax camera division from Hoya, and they
currently have no plan to do
Pentax would join Micro 4/3? But the question will there be MFT - PK
adapter with possible AF with the built in motorized SDM lenses? :)

Don't worry Cotty, the decision on weather to build the K[X]D as a
24x36mm sensor or the 645D boils down to which is most likely to make
money for the Pentax imaging division. Still plenty of possibility for
a gustatory Gatsby rendezvous.

i'm sure there will be further enhancements to the APS-C DSLR line. I think
that has been covered previously in Pentax announcements. I expect we'll see a
K30D with better autofocus and faster write speeds.

Doesn't sound like full frame is a viable option. Note the comments about the
lens line conflict. Pentax will undoubtedly remain in the APS-C fold for at
least the next few years.

I'm sure there will, too. But I also expect any putative K30D would
be aimed at or below the K20D price point. I'd like to know whether
we were still likely to see a K2D or whatever; a somewhat more costly
camera, perhaps, but with some of the more esoteric features such as a
faster maximum
I'd love to see a second card slot. When I shoot a wedding, my heart is in my
throat until I get home and download the files to the comuter. A second card
would be very reassuring. I dont care if they call it K20D, or K2D, but we
eventually need the next step upgrade.

Such a camera was said to be in the works in an interview with one of
the higher-ups at Pentax last year. (It's on the web somewhere but I've
lost the URL). I was afraid it
