Thanks for the tip. I ordered an Extreme III from BH. This will be
my first foray into HDSC. I've been happy with 2 gig cards, but I do
get a bit weary of plugging in a new one after just 83 frames. (How
did I ever manage with 120 film in the 6x7? :-)).

Thanks Bob and Bruce. I ened up buying 3 of them. I'll see how they work. The
specs say they are
not as fast as an Ultra 2, but with the buffer size in the K20, I'm finding I
am not as troubled
by write speeds.
The three Patriot cards cost about the same as one 8gig Ultra2 at my local best

Has anyone got experience with this brand? I found a price of Can$ 31.99 for
class 6 8gb cards
and am wondering if this is too good to be true or not.
Any pointers for finding if this is a good product is appreciated.
Thanks

I've got their 4GB class 6cards and they work fine.
My 8GB pqi card didn't cost much more ~$38.

Yup. Tried that (nervously) after thinking that might dope-slap
If it were mine, I'd send the camera to Pentax for repair. Although you might
try taking the batteries out for a day or so. That can sometimes cure flakey
behavior. But I'll bet you have a hardware problem.

One of the SD cards I use in my DS is a Sandisk Ultra II. I've had it
for more than a year and it has worked flawlessly. As Boris said, there
are some fake Sandisk cards floating around. I hope it isn't a problem
with the camera as someone suggested, it would be much worse.

My DS had a problem with SanDisk cards too, although they worked in
the camera, I was unable to read them in my USB card reader.
I thought the first card was a dud so I got it replaced, same problem
with the new one, however.
Changed to a Kingston card that worked fine.

Bertil
