I would never used hacked firmware in my cameras. That's a very risky
business IMO. I depend upon my cameras...

I'm thinking about 2 things:
* is your DA21 recent? The first batches had focussing problems.
* you can cheat and use a hecked firmware to downgrade to earlier
firmware permitting debug menu. Once settled, you can upgrade again to
v1.3

I think my K10D has the incorrect-focusing problem that was apparent in
cameras bought early on in the model's run last year. I didn't notice it
till I started using my DA21mm for close-ups, where inaccurate focus is
pretty obvious (focuses behind the intended subject).
