That's a good shot. Looks like you did it right. Your flash exposure is close
to ambient because the background is lit. For this type of job I'd shoot with
flash as well, unless the lighting was really quite good. I'd do some wide
shots without flash. But even at 6400 ISO, you're not going to

This one came out nice! You could try setting slow speed sync on the
flash. The camera measures ambient light and goes below 1/60, the
flash is more like a fill in flash. A diffusor also helps.

They are difficult. I have had some good luck using a bit longer
lens - like your 50-135. That seems to let you grab a bit more
candid shot since you are not quite so in their face. The flash
smooths out a bit more and the
