thanks everyone for your encouraging words.. re the Heat - thank goodness for our working AC - I'm reading and hearing such horror stories about The British Isles and Europe being especially bad because there is little air conditioning available  due to a lack of need over the years and  power

Don't know how I missed this earlier, Anne - but so glad things are beginning to get better! Reminds me that, just before we were coming to the USA in 2016, I had a similar fall - tripped on a kerb, fractured my right eye socket, almost degloved my right hand and had a number of other scrapes
