I had a Vivitar 24/2.8 once. It was about 10 years ago and I didn't have
a Pentax 24 for comparison so I can't really tell you how it rates on

Couldn't tell you how it compared, but I had a Vivitar VMC 24mm 2.8
Vivitar manual focus lens. I bought it new maybe 11 years ago. It
performed pretty well: good contrast

My GFM roll of HIE was shot using my PZ-1, 28-105 and #25 Red..
Turned out fine.
I put a piece of aluminum foil, just a hair bigger than the DX window over the

of color checkers to verify - so it's not my monitor calibration that's
off. I fiddled a bit with the color inPS and found something that looked a
bit more natural. Of course, color is such a subjective thing wrt what
I'm not much of a prayer. But you and your family are in my thoughts. Hope
it turns out being a minor thing.
