True here as well for the most part. I can pay right from my checking account,
but PayPal is usually easier and just as secure,

Re: Is it hopeless? Help needed

2021-05-03 Thread Mark C
I lost my original Q to a swollen battery. Using super glue did not
occur to me, maybe that would have worked. I did a lot of googling on
ways to solve this problem and did not find any useful answers. Avoid
doing anything intrusive to the battery - like drilling a hole in it and
trying to set a screw or hook eye to pull it out. (one of the not-useful
answers I saw while googling.) Apparently lithium batteries can burst
into flames. In my case, I just bought a Q7 which proved to be a much
bigger upgrade than expected.

Good luck

There’s no need for things like PayPal accounts in Europe for person to person
payments; we can pay directly and instantly into other people’s accounts with
our online banking apps. For commercial transactions the payment providers
accept bank cards, and credit cards provide very high levels of protection and
chargeback in case of dispute.

Well...Paypal has instructions for paying without an account but
everything on the page the send you to wants you to download/install
their app.  However, if Doug could create a "paypal.me" link and post
it, anyone going to that link can send him money from several sources
including a credit card.  For example:  You could send money to me at
this link.

paypal.me/inspector6

BTW, I discovered something called Zelle, when my tango instructor asked to be
paid by it rather than paypal. No fees and it goes directly into your bank
account rather than into a paypal account where you need to eventually transfer
from into your bank account. If Doug can set that up, it might expedite
getting money without using paypal. When I was trying to pay someone via check
on online banking, WF suggested zelle instead, so it can be easy to set up.

Just a SWAG, but you could take it to a local camera store and they'd get the
battery out for you & sell you a new battery at the same time.

Squeeze some glue out on a piece of junk, then use a Q-tip to transfer
a small amount to the area where you actually want glue to be.

That only works with a round battery. The nikon probably has a flat
battery. Using superglue is difficult because it's a liquid and one
drop too much and everything (camera and battery) is glued together.

For removing a stuck (AA) battery - from my camera - this worked like a charm
and was least intrusive.

I put the camera on it's side so the stuck battery was facing the ceiling
and was COMPLETELY LEVEL.
I smeared a little super glue onto the top of the stuck battery but not
close to the battery's edge!!!
I placed a thick metal nut on top of and in the center of the battery. The
nut must be smaller than the battery.
I added extra super glue into the center region of the metal nut.
I let it set until the next day. Then, simply used a wrench on the nut to
move it until it was free; then could simply extract the battery.

A last resort is two component epoxy glue. Glue something to the
battery which allows you to apply force (after the glue hardens, app
24h) and pull the battery out. A swollen battery is end of life so the
glue won't harm it.
