seats in the auditorium after the remodel.

I can't say for certain but I think they're likely to keep it about a
month before the event. You may have noticed it's a week later than
usual this year. Don't know if it will follow that pattern next year.

PESO: One More Tree #2

2023-04-29 Thread Daniel J. Matyola
Continuing with my series of images fitting the May PUG theme of "One
Tree," I found this image from the Ulupalakua Ranch, in Kula, Maui, Hawai’i.
There are many working cattle ranches in Hawai'i, especially on Maui and
the Big Island. Much of the management of the herds is still done
by Paniolos on horseback, as the terrain is in places too rough even for
ATVs.

Ulupalakua Ranch, established in 1845, contains over 11,000 acres of
historic land along the leeward slopes of Haleakalā Volcano. It was a
favorite retreat for King Kalākaua, "The Merrie Monarch,: when it was
known as Rose Ranch. In addition to beef cattle and elk, it encompasses
Maui's only operating vineyard.

Several unique trees were planted there in the mid 19th century, including
this magnificent specimen:
