I'm only a "FB friend" but we've chatted a bunch since I joined the
list and I know he was a very long time PDML
Yes, Larry, harassing the lizards & asses! The combination works well &,
as you say, versatile & capable (light too). Several members of the
local Pentax group use the 18-270 & some the older 18-250 screw drive
too. I use my 55-300 HD on the K5 as a walk-around lens with great
success. Never
Dan was such a humble and helpful person. We adored him and looked
forward to his posts and photos.
PDMLers all over the world adored him - like me from Canada / India.
We shall see him as a shiny star in the Heavens above and as an
inspiration to all of us.

Flickr sends me notifications when someone likes one of my photos. Those

I went for hikes this weekend in the park near where I’m staying, or arguably
took my camera gear out for a walk. All of these photos were with the K-3 III
and 18-270, which seem to be a reasonably versatile and capable combination. I
did bring my new Heipi tripod out for the walk, but kept

Wow! That was only one day after his last PESO posted to the list.
I met Dan only once, when he stopped off in San
Well, this is certainly sad news. Dan was a genuinely good guy, an
unfailingly positive presence here on The List, and a joy to interact
with off list. The moderator request queue will never be the same.
I can't think of many photographers who had Dan's gift of keeping his
photos in their own
Thank you for sharing this sad news Bruce. He will be missed by his fellow
photo enthusiasts here and elsewhere in the virtual meeting rooms. I always
enjoyed his positive and thoughtful comments. I am sorry I never had the
opportunity to meet him in person.

This is hard to write... I knew a bit more about how serious his
illness was and the nature of it before he mentioned on the list that he
was going to have surgery.
We had been sharing our WORDLE answers in emails and in early March he
wrote that he ws going in for surgery and why - he asked
Sad to hear of Dan's passing, I loved the shots he shared years ago
from his time in service, an impressive fellow indeed.

So. we've lost one of the most active and friendly members of the PDML.
His posts will be sadly missed.

That's exceptionally sad news and a complete shock. Dan was always a great
supporter of the PUG - I'll miss his contributions. I hope his portfolio in the
Pentax Photo Gallery remains online.

Man, that's sad news. Dan was one of those PDML'ers I'd always wanted
to meet in person.
