This just in from the Left Field Department —
I thought I would share an offbeat macro lens I have created for my
K200D. It is a 1930 Zeiss-Ikon Maximar (6x9cm) with a Zeiss Jena 105mm
f/4.5 lens. The camera was not harmed, but a film pack back and dark

I took the shot in color, but it looked rather blah. Suggestive of
monochrome, even.
So I fired up NIK Silver Efex Pro (on PS CS2) and tried some of the
presets. This one is Solarized (which I used to like to do in my old
BW darkroom days).

Home made lens attached to my K200D. Life took a turn which caused me
to put this aside, but I've just ordered a proper body cap for it and
plan to take more photos with it soon.
I believe that if we were all allowed to carry spray paint at all
times, a lot less of this would be happening.

macro, it was available in 52B and a newer 52BB model (both sharing
same optics). I have the 52B and think it would be a terrific lens at

He had the 500mm priced at $650, I think. But not against dealing.

substantially better than the corresponding JPEG (I always shoot

Could I just do a mini-rant here and ask why people are so afraid to
name their price these days? I, for one, can't be the Buyer and the
Seller too.
The seller should set a price (which could/should drop over time if
there are no takers) and the buyer decides if he wants it at that
price or not.
At least an auction normally has pictures and an Ending Time or in
some cases a Reserve Price that, when met, means that you
psychologically know that the item IS going to sell. These make offer
