I made the switch to PEF's for GFM. Yesterday I got 180 PEF's on a 2 gig
card, which would have held something like 135 DNG files. It's worth it.

For the lights - I have some really ancient screw in
florescent bulbs. I think any bulb will work so long
as it does not get hot...

It's good enough that most don't really mind the camera's inability to
meter with non-CPU lenses. One shot gives more information than a
reading from an incident or spot meter.

I actually try to push the exposure on fly shots to bring out the specular
highlights. Without it the bug looks a little flat. They have that nice
greasy look to their hair that I want to capture :-)

with film, but I do get that with the *ist-D. I probably
should try shooting with the monopod and film and see if I could of done
better in the past.
