I've seen them with both screw-on and snap-in hoods.

larger format lens.
Probably the least expensive way might be an APO Nikkor 240mm. Covers
almost 8x10.
And process lenses are generally sharper than LF.

Reports on this 28-105 have been pretty good, so today's lunch exercise is

KEH's bargain condition has almost always been considered an
overstatement (people very happy with what they get), but their
description of ugly (which includes fungus and other OPTICAL

The lenses compared were (1) FA28-105 (pz) (2) 18-55WF (3) K50/1.4 (4)
70/2.4LTD (5) A50/1.7.
First off, at 50mm, I was surprised how well the 28-105 compared to 2,3,
5.
The full frame was well-rendered. The
K50/1.4. VGC. Perfect glass and mechanics. Just some front edge paint
wear. Caps included. $75
A50/1.7. VGC. Perfect glass and mechanics. Front filter ring dent.
Aperture ring behaves nicely (not stuck, no broke spring or warping issues)

K2 body. VGC. Some use marks on top, but back
Nice. Here are two thoughts:
1 - People still dance? We do, but I don't see many.
2 - Try this: Keep the high contrast of the original's foreground unchanged

Those of us who have shot for a long time know how to handle our DOF scales.
But alas many lenses come without scales and the knowledge of how to work
with it is often lacking.
These days I have a young lady working under me for shooting our
transmission parts.
She knows her way around Photoshop
Your 1/3 distance into the scene seems to comport with the accepted system
that's been touted for many years.
The combination of f/16 and the 50mm lens seems a nearly ideal combination.
If you have the convenience of in-camera pre reviewing the DOF, I'm sure
you would be taking advantage of it.
Like real good.
But the lesson here is quite simple: Control everything. Light and pose.
Of course the costume, but that hides where the real work was done.
It is also not that it's really hard to do, but it does take significant
preparation time to design what you want, often on paper first, and

These images were taken just moments apart. The camera was not moved and
the object was flipped vertically in the same position.
So why the cropping? Well, best that I can figure is that, with the camera
on since last Wed., even
I use the 394 system at work.
Camera is attached firmly and there is space on the right side to remove
the battery for recharging.
Removing the camera is convenient.

The K-3 is going to be a *significant* upgrade from the K-5 family in many
