This
Ken,
Have had mine for 3 years. I'm quite happy with the original Minolta
software too, but I will definately give the vuescan a try.
I have found this scanner to produce some vibration while scanning. To
weigh it down with a couple of book improve my results a lot.
Best,
Jostein

I have a Minolta Scan Dual connected to a Mac and had nothing but trouble
with Vuescan. Most of the time it wouldn't run and when it did the results
were no better than the original software. Had less problem with my 1640SU
but didn't find the results any better there.
Anybody else have this

I have one and have had far better results using Hamrick's Vuescan
software
(www.hamrick.com) than the supplied stuff from Minolta. That is my big
do.

Hamrick doesn't need many film types for slides because they are all
positives with no orange mask.
