The software from Pentax reads and displays the lens type which proves
the data is in the EXIF. All others like Adobe don't show the lens
used for the K10D. Adobe shows the lens used on the istD. A K10D
firmware bug?

There shouldn't be anything wrong with your K10D if the Pentax
software sees the lens data. Something like this was discussed in
another thread and I think I mentioned about Photoshop stripping the
lens data off the EXIF file. My PS version is the CS; someone

the 16-45 on the istD is reported as

On the K10D
Lens Type : Unknown (4 254 0)
I don't think exif data is stripped. Maybe the firmware needs an update.

The K10D is totally amazing. The shots really have a film like
appearance. Noise is visible, but again almost film like and the SR is
working great.

The K10D is totally
It won't read the lens if it's prior to an FA series
lens. However, if you use SR and enter the focal
length, that will end up in the EXIF.
