Seems to be the lens. F50/2.8 Macro. Am going to move lights (tomorrow)
and see what happens. Haven't seen a spot akin to this since a the early
version of the Tamron macro.

The section on the flash sync, while honest, really reads like an apology,
an admission of failure.
Otherwise, a nice set of fieatures.

I also like the wide crop.
As an enhancement crop off the bottom 15-20%. That draws one's eyes to
something sharp as soon as they enter the image.

I like all 3.
The bananas (especially) and the oranges both would take on some "pop" if
post-processed to look like Kodachrome.
At least that's how they appear to me and on my monitor.
I like contrast (rich dark tones, that is) but it's so difficult to get
enough of it with color in general.

Yes, there *was* a Vivi 1A on it. Will test w/o it.

Serious break-down. Gotta replace it.
F28/2.8 -- $200
F50/1.7 -- $200
FA35/2 -- $250
(I still have my K5 , so at least I can shoot.)

Ah choose the top one.
This has me curious. Can we use this technology to emulate a variety of lens
designs?
Take, for instance the old Pentax-A 70-210/4 vs the Takumar-A 70-200. The
Tak-A has a much shorter transition

Wish I had time to set up for a proper shot
Too bad for the back end wing break.
Anyone know moth particulars?

Have any of the traditional camera makers pursued a simple approach to
active images like those of iPhone?
Of course there's movie mode, but that requires extra work & a change of
mindset.
It would seem adding a simple approach might be a nice enhancement even if
it is already mostly there.

And a misuse of the term "circle of confusion".
It is, to be certain, an archaic use of the term confusion and today we
might better say convergence.
They use it to describe the out-of-focus area when it's actually the
in-focus area, the point where the light from the lens converges.

If anyone is interested, Midwest has a Pentax-A 645 120/4 macro on sale for
$149.
Lots of other film stuff as well.
I guess they decided that it's time to dump it all.
