2008-11-25 Thread Jack Davis
I was taking a close look at the eye focus and have about decided that the
right eye is in a bit of shadow and therefore may just appear to be slightly
out of focus. In checking out the detail of his right cheek, it kind of appears
that the right eye could possibly be sharper.
Being a small web file, even if downloaded and pulled up, I wonder if one could
tell. I haven't tried it.
I do agree that the near eye is the preferable focus point.

This whole candid photography thing is pretty new to me. Up until just a few
years ago, most of my photography was done on a 4x5 camera, hardly something
suitable for snapshots.
I'll keep working at it.
Her hand is in the full frame image, I try to crop to a very few aspect
ratios, either 2:3, 4:5 or 1:1. This looked best with a square crop, at
least to me, and I needed her head to be where it is, again to balance the
image to my eye.
All things are a compromise.

Thanks for looking, and for commenting.
