My taste in abstracts runs towards those that are really abstract. In
that regard I like Stairwell #1 of these the best. Raw and powerful
geometry, great use of color and shadow.
The problem with being that abstract is that viewers sometimes get hung
up on guess what the subject matter is. I
I agree, Ann, but when I posted the original 3 image gallery, someone
suggested lightening the left side of one of the images, and someone
else suggested trying B I tried both of these techniques, and
tried to clean up the two best image, which were Stairwell 1 and
Stairwell 3. Those images
I think you are overthinking this... 1 and 3 of the original set were
jsut fine as is... I don't see any reason to clean up the stairs in what
used to be #1
Getting confused with the numbers I do like the slightly lighter
abstract one but don't remember if that was how you had it
On my phone, I prefer the second color stair free image. It must have been #3
in your first post.

#1 and #3 are my faves - I'd go with the more abstract #1 of the pair.
The somewhat irregular edge of the stairs contrasts with the spiral
shape. Very nice!

Nice work, Dan! The more abstract ones work best for me.
Stairwell #1 is just about perfect. The warm sandy tones in this
colour rendition are great.
Were it mine, I'd go straight to b and lots of contrast. It's
perfect for that treatment I think.

Yes that was my pick of the bunch as well, by a long margin. The shadows make
it.

Thanks, Nicole.
Opinion seems evenly divided between #1 and # 3; at least it is clear that
#2 doesn't work.

Thanks, Bob, Paul, Don, Jack, and Ann, for your kind comments.
It was a bit of an adventure leaning out over the opening to get the
shots.

Number 3 for me as 1st choice - lotta wow factor. Like stairwell 1 a lot
too . The middle one falls short of the others
largly because of the main spiral is truncated at the bottomof the
frame... but Stairwell 3 for next years Annual please :-)

Stairwell 1 is the stand-out shot for me - some good raw material to play

On my phone, the third or bottom image is my choice BY FAR.

I concur with Bob. Stairwell 1 is outstanding. It's an abstract, all-seeing eye
looking back at me.
