So in other words, "what have the Romans ever done for us?"

I agree with you that for the money the camera is excellent. Saying
that if it weren't for the full frame and the performance the K-1 would
be disappointing is like saying, it it weren't for the V-12 and the
performance, you wouldn't want to own a Ferrari.

I do need to try using the camera in crop mode. The focus points would
give (nearly?) full coverage of the aps portion of the sensor.

And, yes, the extra control wheel is very nice.

They've added a whole bunch of features that could be amazing, but most
of them have some design flaw or shortcoming that severely limits their
usefulness. Like they now support tethering, but limit it to USB 2,
which doesn't have the bandwidth. Or the wifi remote control, which
really seems to suck.

Do you have a publisher in mind?

Har! There's a reason nobody pays me to write equipment reviews. No,
actually, there are many reasons.

I’d be happy with the autofocus regardless. Shooting Grace at the beach
yesterday in crop mod with my 60-250, I noticed it performs far better than the
K-3 when focusing on a moving subject. I’d also be pleased with the wheel that
enables lots of control without going in the menu. The benefits go way beyond a
full frame sensor and excellent performance. Maybe you need to rethink your
premise before you write.

Do you have a publisher in mind?
