Just saw a summer stock production of Pajama Game a few weeks ago, and I don't recall hearing these lyrics. In this version at least, the plot was a bit different. The "lackey" was the hero, the young management type who sets the troglodyte boss straight and convinces him to grant a raise, thus letting management and labor live happily together forever after.
