The south Korean puppet government of Kim Young-sam has asked a court in Seoul, south Korea to give an unspecified multi-year prison term to a well-known student leader. Ri Won Gu, is the former chairman of the Committee for the Reunification of the Country, an organization that is under the south Korean Federation of University Student Councils (Hanchongryon). His trial began September 14, on a charge of violating the fascist National Security Law that prohibits any contact with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. The government prosecutor alleges that Ri Won Gu "manipulated south Korean students to make secret visits to the North without the authorities' permission, including dispatching messages." He is also alleged to have assisted in the preparations for delegates of Hanchongryon to participate in the grand reunification celebration during August. The annual festival highlights south Korean students' demands for reunification, the ouster of U.S. troops and the repeal of the National Security Law. The festival was violently crushed by the police and over 7,000 students were arrested. Shawgi Tell University at Buffalo Graduate School of Education [EMAIL PROTECTED]
