WARNING Update: Magnitude 5.0 and greater earthquakes in Australia region.

>>> please forward this info to whom it may concerned <<<

Opening remarks:

Based on the data reported by the USGS from 12-26-2004 to 1-1-2005 (one week) there was a total of 110 under the water earthquakes occurred and located between off shore of west coast of northern Sumatra island and Andaman islands. That is average of 16 quakes a day. 99 quakes had more than 5 mag. Only 11 quakes had less than 5 mag. These events showed an unstoppable quake pattern. The deadliest 9.0 mag quake has generated 600mph tsunami occurred on 12-26-2004 resulted more than 100.000 death toll and billion dollars of casualties in ten countries of southern Asia and eastern Africa. It is time for several most suffered countries to plan to relocate their beach side residents to higher and safer location. It is time for these countries to setup their better earthquake and tsunami system. For the better resettlement plan and the better earthquake & tsunami monitoring system each of the housing department and the geology center should collaborate with the local private consultants and the international experts. The plan and its implementation should be carried on promptly since the disaster victims will not be able to rebuild their houses or currently create an exodus. Resettlement or relocation and the advancement of the disaster warning system should be among the top priority of these countries. More importantly that the donor countries should relieve several most suffered countries from their international loan.

REMARKS: The hamradio emergency volunteers at these regions should stay alert for any possible dangerous impact. Those who have been helping in the disaster areas should continue to assist the aid process, reorganization and resettlement effort. Send more backup volunteers and rotate them if it is necessary. We know that there is a little mass media coverage of how these hamradio emergency volunteers never stop to replace, restore and operate the vital radio communication in the devastated areas. But that does not stop or even decrease their volunteerism of social and emergency services. Several vhf linked hamradio repeaters in northern Sumatra have been activated for the emergency services since day one. All hamradio operators and short-wave listeners around the world can tune in their high frequency rigs or short-wave radios to the Sumatra Emergency Net Control YB6ZZ or YB6ZES on 7055MHz (40m) and 21.300MHz (15m) as well as YD6AT in Banda Aceh on 3815MHz (80m). Please s! ay hello and show your distance support to these around-the-clock volunteers if possible. In doing so please use the emergency frequencies courteously and cautiously.Thank you.
