Now I am modifying it as follows: # TYPE DATABASEUSERADDRESS METHOD # "local" is for Unix domain socket connections only local all all md5 # IPv4 local connections: hostall all 192.168.1.3/32md5 # IPv6 local connections: hostall all ::1/128 md5 # Allow replication connections from localhost, by a user with the # replication privilege. #local replication postgresmd5 #hostreplication postgres127.0.0.1/32md5 #hostreplication postgres::1/128 md5 Should "METHOD" column be lept as 'md5' or as 'trusted' as in the link I posted in the OP?
