I made one of those up for myself. I call it the Orthophonicator .

For $11 and a donor no-name reproducer, you can make one yourself. Remove the
old diaphragm and needle bar and JB Weld this to the reproducer and Voila A
Victor MP3 player.

Better yet, don't use a reproducer, just a repro replacement rubber adapter for
a Victor...

Hey there Bill
I have a beautiful, 100% original Banner front Triumph with 2/4
minute gearing, vertical carriage, O reproducer and cygnet horn. The
pinstriping is great, original finish and decal - the whole works.
Best of all, no one has monkeyed with it, so you also get the original grime.
This is a private thing betwixt Peter and me, but remember when an editor
once turned some of my copy inside out?

How could I forget? Although it was more than once he tried to do it!
He was a presumptuous (and kinda snotty) guy, who now seems to have left or
receded from the hobby...

Yes, Lionel made cheap childrens' phonos for a period of time in the 1950s.
Yes, this was the same company that made the model trains. Some of the
phonos were acoustic and some were electronic models. They turn up on eBay
regularly.
