Ok, folks I am ready to admit to being an idiot. The first decal came off the backing a lot faster than I expected and I wasn't ready for it. I totally destroyed it. And of course it was the large piece with the fancy scrolls. I was sick about it. Then I did the other side. It was much better.

Fresh decals do not require much soaking at all. Over soak and they will get away from you. Slide the decal on its backing to the edge and position the backing and then hold the decal and pull the backing out. Jim Nichol wrote: I'm thinking that's something that would require some practice.
