Guys, I don't know if I dreamed this up or if it actually existed. I seem to remember a reproducer on an acoustic phonograph that did not have the regular thumbscrew setup to hold the needle in place. The needle was simply stuck in place. On another forum I frequent an early horseshoe magnetic pickup was being discussed that did not have a set screw to hold the needle. The needle was simply inserted. Can anyone enlighten me as to whether that type of needle assembly existed in the acoustic world of phonographs? Thanks
