Thanks Ron. I had a crank that had a female end that would accept a 3/8" piece of "all thread" but the outside diameter was too large for the decorative escutcheon plate that mounts over the hole in the cabinet. Don't happen to have a photo of the details of the front door, would you. All I have is what appears to be piece of 2X4 that fits in the bottom, with a couple of pieces of hardware on it.

They are supposed to be the same except for decorative parts. Could you use a Victor crank and re-therad it? Door dimensions: 17 1/8 wide, 20 9/16 high, 3/4" thick including the veneer. It looks like there is a taper on the top so the backside dimension for the height would be a little less.
