Attribute doesn't exist]' even when it does. Any advice?
Same problem here, only we also see it with "sambaNTPassword". I already
tried to add it to
server:custom_attrs
but it was of no avail.

Add the new attributes to your custom object class as "may", then reload
slapd, purge caches. Everything should be as you'd expect it.

can be backed up. Restore is via "slapadd", after deleting leftover
DB-Files. At least thats how we do it, to avoid having to back up an
active database.
The location of the DB files is configured in the OpenLDAP Server
configuration file "slapd.conf".
