I have a SanDisk Sansa e260 MP3 player which acts a USB storage device.
Formerly it would always show up in Thunar's side pane as Sansa e260
(with an MP3 player icon) and would mount as /media/Sansa e260 when I
clicked on it. Recently I had a

Hey, that's fine. :) I know Debian is a volunteer effort, and I'm not
asking anyone to give more time than they have. Just reporting the
problems so that the awareness is there for others.

slow down everything, imho. What you really want is
to mount your usb keys with the sync option.
Thunar doesn't provide such an option, as far as I know. (I am not
going to create an fstab entry for every removable disk I will ever
use.)

With a simple GTK test program, the window-state-event signal is broken

Okay, that makes sense. If I figure what program changed the umask (I
certainly didn't do it manually), I'll reassign this bug to that
program. I just tried logging out and back in again, and now Thunar is
using the same umask as everything else (022).
