I have this old HDD I want to get data off of. It is a Rll drive 30 Mb.
If someone has a controller card I can use or a old computer (pcXT) I could
borrow.
I don't know if the drive works at all but it does/did have dos 6 on it at
one
time.

the closet (literally) and have some old hardware
that could use proper disposal. Currently I am dropping stuff off at
Batteries Plus into their electronics recycle box. However the current
lot still runs, despite running MS Vista, XP or Windows 10.
Does anyone know of an alternate legit site
Peoria,
I am cleaning out the closet (literally) and have some old hardware
that could use proper disposal. Currently I am dropping stuff off at
Batteries Plus into their electronics recycle box. However the current

Greetings from Peoria,
I am cleaning out the closet (literally) and have some old hardware that
could use proper disposal. Currently I am dropping stuff off at Batteries
Plus into their electronics recycle box. However the current lot still
runs, despite running MS Vista, XP or Windows 10.

I wonder if ddrescue with a log file could raise those odds. I've used
it on hard disks of dubious
I have a working 3.5 usb floppy drive. Success rate in recovering data
from old disks for people is maybe 50/50 though?
I'm generally at Gangplank in Chandler during business hours, or I can
bring it to plug/stammtisch.

I'd typically find floppies that didn't work after a few years for whatever
reason back when they were the shiznit still, I can't imagine they hold up
much over time, and imagine charging for someone scanning hundreds of them

I had an old thinkpad usb 3.5 floppy disk drive accessory I kept around to
boot cranky systems back in the day, as oddly when some wouldn't work with
certain usb cd, that floppy always worked. I'd offer it up, but I haven't
seen/used it in 10+ years, and don't even know where to start looking for

I think I have a 3.5" floppy drive in the junk
How old are these discs? If you do get data from them, I'm sure some of
us would be interested in how old they are and still able to retain the
data.
