How can I eliminate the Bookmarks and Help menu items from the Firefox
menu to achieve a more compact and efficient browser header? As shown in

What is the purpose of all the hundreds of .mappedfiles that are
cluttering up my system? Can they somehow be globally deleted? How can I
stop them from being generated? Or do they serve some crucially important

In Ubuntu 9.10 you should be able to open networking and just follow the
prompts.
