Keep in mind that a lot of Red Hat money goes into developing the
linux kernel and other open source projects. If big corporations want
to pay Red Hat to improve linux, why should any of us complain? As
has been stated before many times, those who don't want to pay big
bucks for RHEL
I may not like the way the Redhat flavored Linux operates, but i
cannot deny the effect they have had on the Linux world. and overall
they have been a positive effect.

I love Redhat, having built custom firewalls from basic installs under
Redhat 3/4 in the early 1990's.
Course, I like Gentoo also. And I like Ubuntu, and Knoppix is wondaba
for some things. Ah, fickle I might be: so many Nix, so little
time...
Of course, I like to make fun of them all also!
Like ice cream 31 flavors is still not enough

didn't really work too well for microsoft.
The reason RHEL charges money (besides to make money) is to provide
support that the suits in home office need to feel comfortabke, even
with competent IT staff...
If you don't want to
But if you want cheap licensure, get (or pay to train) RHCE staff.
It's the cisco systems model, at some level?
