Hi,
I am trying out SoftSqueeze 3.3 on Ubuntu Linux 6.10 (Edgy Eft). It is
running against Slimserver version 6.5.2 on Ubuntu Dapper. I can
operate SoftSqueeze flawlessly as long as I don't skip to the next or
previous song. The consequence is that SoftSqueeze hangs with a frozen
display and
WinXP, running slimserver 6.5.1 on a debianized LinkStation)
1) slimfx is crashing slimserver fairly regularly, although I've yet to
replicate exact steps to cause crashes. I've managed to crash slimserver
at least 3 different ways so far.
I would be surprised if it was SlimFX as it's a pure
fast, even on my Via C3 server it only takes a few seconds to populate
all the lists.
Just tried it remotely through a SSH tunnel - still fast :-)
There are two more things I noticed:
- while non-latin characters are fine for me in the artists list et al.,
they're broken in the player
Another remark: It also happens when I operately SoftSqueeze remotely,
i.e. through the web interface.

Trackstat is configured to make a backup each day.
I deleted all my stats, and loaded a recent backup. I then saved my stats out
as a new backup file. The file size is significantly smaller (auto backup file
was 3268KB, new backup file is 1068KB).
Could something have gone wrong?

I am using the latest slimserver and latest superdatetime plugin with a
london weather. On the second line of display on a slimp3 originalI
have the setting for %T/%t ( I think thats it - am not there to look it
up) intending to get degF/degC. I do get the correct temps, but the
label is wrong.

I realized that I'm setting the charset in some of my queries but not
all of them...that might very well be the reason.

It would be even better if it would be possible to browse the music
folder.
In my large collection of music, it's painfull to scroll through
thousands of artists, albums etc. The filtering works, but i got a good
structure in the disk and are used to browse trough that structure.
This skin is excellent.
I have slimfx working well from my PC to my NSLU2 running SS 6.3.1.
Much faster than the default web interface.
This has real potential and looks really good.
Many of the developments suggested on this thread would appeal to me
but also a radio page.

Mike mentioned this in his announcement: don't select it as your default
skin. And no need to dig through slimserver.pref: just open

A big thumbs up from me - jolly good work!
I'm especially happy because my slimserver box is rather underpowered
(it's a Kurobox) and the web interface is pretty slow.

Ah, yes, of course. I didnt get it because when I clicked on Pram Files
I just got a message that I shouldnt change anything here, that scared
me off.
opened it anyway and I dropped the Lazy file in the file, hope it works
now.

i cannot get the Custom Browse Plugin work with my web proxy defined in
slimserver-network. It always wants to connect to your server the
direct way. Should it work or is it something you'd consider adding?

One personal suggestion: I'd love to see the Now Playing window expand
to something even bigger when I am done choosing what I want to listen
to - similar to the now playing screen in the Touchscreen interface.

Ahhh, yes, just spotted this.. If you turn off 'draw with outline'
in the options-text tab, it doesnt wrap.. Should wrap fine with it

For the past couple of weeks, the audio pauses so much sometimes its not
even worth listening to. I've tried messing with the buffer size and
time out; but, it doesn't fix the problem. I have a 6mbps downstream
connection to the Internet.
Does everyone have this problem who has high quality

If Michael or anyone can help with debugging, here's a few more data
points. Running slimserver 6.5.1 on a debian-based LinkStation HG
(266MHz PPC 128MB RAM).
Item 1: the contents of slimserver.log after starting slimserver via my
usual startup script. In this case slimserver crashed as soon as
