If missing LAME was thr problem then only the RTSP-MP3 check box would be unchecked. Slimserver cannot see mplayer and so it will not allow the checkboxes to be ticked. Main Reasons for not seeing mplayer. 1. It is not in the right directory. Have you multiple versions of slimserver installed

OK - you have no security tab because your file system is FAT and not NTFS So now need to check the ownership and access of exe files. 1. Open a command prompt 2. run the command to see ownership dir /q C:\PROGRA~1\SLIMSE~1\server\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread\*.exe 3. run the command to see

Looking at the changelogs, my question is: Are your plugins working with the current trunk (7.0)? No. They once did (will have to add this note), but meanwhile the plugin interface in 7.0 has changed a lot. I did not want to encourage people to use trunk so far. Quite a good excuse, isn't

You were on the right track but I'm not sure what went wrong. It's very hard to give instructions line by at this level. Basically at the command prompt do a cd command and you should be at the directory containing mplayer.exe and wmadec.exe. Then do the dir and attrib commands. So the

Have you tried going to the streams in you Web browser? There's always the possibility that something is going wrong at the BBC. In fact, if you haven't changed anything else, that's perhaps the most likely. -- danco

Make sure slimserver can find mplayer.sh and whether it has right permissions and ownership. Where to put lame ? Slimserver checks lots of places, get a log with d_paths enabled and open the server Setting/Filetypes - it will generate lots of messages about executables it can't find but it also
