If missing LAME was thr problem then only the RTSP-MP3 check box would
be unchecked.
Slimserver cannot see mplayer and so it will not allow the checkboxes
to be ticked.
Main Reasons for not seeing mplayer.
1. It is not in the right directory. Have you multiple versions of
slimserver installed

I do not think this is the case.

Thing about column sorting - would you expect it to alter

OK - you have no security tab because your file system is FAT and not
NTFS
So now need to check the ownership and access of exe files.
1. Open a command prompt
2. run the command to see ownership
dir /q C:\PROGRA~1\SLIMSE~1\server\Bin\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread\*.exe
3. run the command to see

Greetings Michael,
Looking at the changelogs, my question is: Are your plugins working

Thanks much!

No. They once did (will have to add this note), but meanwhile the plugin
interface in 7.0 has changed a lot. I did not want to encourage people to
use trunk so far. Quite a good excuse, isn't
Has anyone got this to work?
I've downloaded mplayer and lame from blastwave and the location of the
binaries and libs are in the path for the slimserver user.
Versions are;
MPlayer 1.0pre8-3.4.5 (C) 2000-2006 MPlayer Team
LAME version 3.96.1 (http://lame.sourceforge.net/)
It is unclear what
With mplayer 1.0pre8 there is no need for any codec for BBC. If you can
build an mplayer executable - install it on the path and slimserver
will find it.

You were on the right track but I'm not sure what went wrong. It's very
hard to give instructions line by at this level.
Basically at the command prompt do a cd command and you should be at
the directory containing mplayer.exe and wmadec.exe. Then do the dir
and attrib commands. So the
It has worked until today. However today on any BBC channel I have tried
to tune in to, i get stream searching, the squeezebox screen flickers on
the connect message - and that continues until I disconnect. Any ideas?
Thanks

Have you tried going to the streams in you Web browser? There's always
the possibility that something is going wrong at the BBC. In fact, if
you haven't changed anything else, that's perhaps the most likely.

I've set the app path in mplayer.sh ;
app=/opt/csw/bin/mplayer
.. which is the path to the mplayer binary.
So I guess this should work.
What's the story with the lame binary? How does the plugin know how to
find that?

Make sure slimserver can find mplayer.sh and whether it has right
permissions and ownership.
Where to put lame ? Slimserver checks lots of places, get a log with
d_paths enabled and open the server Setting/Filetypes - it will
generate lots of messages about executables it can't find but it also
Hi,
I am trying to test my setup before I buy a Squeezebox. I have
installed the slim server on three different systems: a Mac (OSX

trying to see if I can stream files off of any of these systems to
another using Softsqueeze as a
What player are you using ?
If it is not a Squeezebox or SoftSqueeze, it will not play - see the
