The latest version of max2play gives a simple tick box option for
installing google music with an lms install. I have done this a few
times in the pi installs I've set up and works without issue. Only
helpful if you have a pi server though.

Sorry, I didn't intent to highjack this thread with my problems. I just
wanted to drop the idea that there might be a more general problem
behind the initial Spotify issue.

I have the same problem with Deezer.
Different music service is a different problem. Spotify is very specific
and different to any other music service we support. Please open a new
thread - I'll answer there. Thanks!

I have the same problem with Deezer. A single player (streaming method
"direct streaming" in the audio settings) is working fine. When
switching to "Proxied Streaming" or synching with another player (which
implicitly switches to "Proxied Streaming") does no longer work. I'm
sure it worked
