Hm, could you please - while playing something - bring up the context
menu for the current track ("Hold" the cover at the top left on iPad)
and then select "More Info".
This should give you more information about the sample rate used.

Artist Bio "fetching..." persists on 2.2.2 for me when playing online
content (Radio Paradise, Spotify). Local content works great.
This occurs on Material APK and Chrome/Firefox browsers on Fedora.

Slightly off-topic: I've been playing with a plugin that offers a more
flexible use of remote control buttons to do the rating. I'll be testing

I'm happy enough with it.

There is a change in the latest 8.1.2 nightly build that allows you to
supress the onmysqueezebox.com favourite entry. This is useful if you
use the Mediaserver skill to search for favourites as it flattens the
library and speeds up the response.
The details are here:

Like I say, the volume changes when the +/- buttons are pressed, but
there is no feedback on the screen.
Your LMS is way out of date!
You need to get a Raspberry Pi, install piCorePlayer then add LMS, mount
the Synology share for music files.
If you look in Linux / Unix you will find plenty of help on how to do
this.

Hi d6jg:
Roland0 and Erland,
Many thanks to you both for your helpful replies.
Although I may later find out that my current optimism isn't warranted,
I seem to have achieved what I wanted, which was a "fresh start."

It 100% works unless are you by any chance syncing your iOS device with
another player? If so LMS will transcode to the highest level that is
common between the synced players.
What version of LMS are you on?
Is this a local 24/96 file or from an Online source?

I fi run Material in a browser on my PC is shows 24 time.
However if I run Squeezelite X on that same PC it insists on using 12
hour time.
is this a bug or is there a setting I'm missing to change this?

This is probably me remembering wrongly, but I thought the BBC Sounds
App provided best quality streams (320kbps?).
I'm using the plug-in on LMS feeding a RPi 3B (running Picoreplayer)
into a Caiman SEG via Optical and the Radio 2 live stream shows at
96kbps on my Squeezer App.

OK it's probably about time I upgraded my hardware, it's been running
fine since 2012 so I thought I'd just leave it while it was doing
everything I wanted. Now my problem is deciding on new hardware, as
there are so many options now.

Thanks Michael I feared as much. What's the minimum version of LMS I'd
need to upgrade to? (though your first sentence suggests that's not
going to work either)
I believe Spotty should work even with 7.7. But TBH I wouldn't know of
anyone using it with anything older than 7.9.

Are you perhaps referring to the 'iPeng Playback' in-app purchase?
Without that, you can't play anything, not just FLACs.

To play FLACs in iPhone/iPad you need a special plug-in for iPeng. If
not, you can not play Flacs in iPad/iphone

Hi again Pippin an d6jg:
I tested the HiRes mode with a 24/96 track and it does not work. The
Dragonfly tells me 44.1.
Am I doing something wrong?. I am using iPeng with the FLAC plug-in. Is
this correct?
If I test the same track with the app Onkyo HF player, it works ok.

When I start SLX it sends the packet and wakes the server - perfect! But
