For current track info I'm using the new current API with "?limit=1" which can return 0 if no track (e.g. R4) or 1 if a track played anytime. Because of player buffering, I'm assuming current track is when the "label" is either 'Now Playing' , 'Less Than a Minute Ago' or '1 Minute Ago' For

It looks like changes are being rolled out to Radio.net website has meant plugin is temporarily broken for some languages (e.g. Radio.net is broken but Radio.de is OK). When situation is a bit "clearer" (i.e. wait a bit to see if all sites updated) an update to the plugin will be made.
