Does the menu work as you like if you browse into it by going through
the standard TrackStat menu: Music Library-TrackStat-Last

The Statistics menu type which you use when creating the Custom
Browse menu is just a shortcut to the above

Indeed it does. Now how can I get Music Library-TrackStat-Last
played-Last played albums to appear at the top level of my SB3 player
menus?
It should work if you follow the instructions I described in post #2 in
this thread.
Make sure you don't have a Last played menu
Erland, here is what I want to be able to do:
Sit in my listening position with my SB remote. On the SB screen (not
my laptop screen), browse through a list of the 50 most recently played
albums.
I had this working perfectly on Slimserver, but so far no luck on
Squeezecenter

Erland, I installed the latest versions of your plug-ins, followed all
of your instructions, and still no go. I cannot get the Last Played
menu to 'populate' with last played items on Squeezecenter 7.01. This
worked flawlessly on Slimserver. What am I doing wrong?
P.S. I also tried upgrading to
Character Progress Tracking Prior to starting your leveling service, you
can specify a segment of time each day when you can play with your
character. This not only allows you to track the progress of your
character, but you can use the time to meet up with your friends in the
game and explore
Now I've been able to create the Last Played Menu option and get it to
the top level of the SB3 display interface menu. But when I right arrow
on Last Albums played, it doesn't go anywhere. It's as if the Last
Played dynamic playlist is not filling up with content the way it's
supposed to.

Erland, with Slimserver I was able to implement a Last Played menu
item at the top level of the SB menu structure. Now having upgraded to
SqueezeCenter, I try to do the same but am not succeeding. I tried to
follow the procedure described in this thread:
1.
In the SqueezeCenter Settings/Custom Browse web interface select
Manage menus and then Create a new menu.
2.
Select menu type Statistics, change Menu name to something you like
such as Last played, the trick here is the Statistic group parameter
it must be set to exactly Last played
