Sync always worked fine for me under 6.5.x, and presented no problems
when I first downloaded 7.0 about 3 weeks ago. Once I switched from
Classic to the Default skin about a week ago, however, I encountered
the same behavior (every song on one player began 3-4 seconds after the
other).

That's been my amateur sleuthing answer as well-that the pausing of the
music is primarily due to the server's processing of building the
dynamic playlist in conjunction with building the album artwork, etc
for the web interface. But it's just a guess at best. hopefully others

If you have problems with the Random Mix plugin, please register this as
a bug report at bugs.slimdevices.com unless there already is one
registered. Post the bug number here so I know which one to look for.
I suspect the problem is when Dynamic Playlist or Random Mix plugins
retrieves

Does the problem only occur if you are playing a playlist through the
Dynamic Playlist plugin ?
Does the problem happen in all dynamic playlists or just some of them
?
Do you have the same problem if you are using the Random Mix plugin
bundled with SqueezeCenter ?

1. yes, the problem is isolated to dynamic playlists
2. i'll have to go through a variety of playlists to answer this but so
