I think you got the syntax wrong. Compare yours with bold:

I think this is not a matter of CRLF but a space character somewhere in the
begining of the new line.

What is cause for your problem is a space at the beginning of the line.
This causes the line to not break, which is how it is designed to work.

code, stupid me. The way I defined the table it was using 'width:100%'
