Someone keeps using the comment block to spam a page. How do I fix this?
You can see the problem at

Thanks in advance!
PS: I have no idea what version PMWIKI I'm using.

If I want to do an individual non-Google banner ad, where do I put the
HTML? And I'd only want it on the home page, NOT repeated throughout
the site.
I couldn't find a recipe for this, or if I did I didn't know what it was.
Thanks.

I have my wiki set up so that an author's name is required (I gave up on the
individual password thing). Yet people are posting and there is no author's
name showing anywhere.
I'm using the new Parchment skin, if that has anything to do with it.

I've just downloaded pmwiki 2.2.0beta57.tar
Am I correct that all I have to copy over is the pmwiki.php file?
Thanks!

I have turned on the option in my config.php file to do wiki page links, but
I thought that would automatically link one word like health in one page
to the main health page. Probably I'm mistaken, so what does that option
do?
And is there a way to automate links?
I'm getting good content and
I was checking out the block option and went to the Wiki.D folder
(directory) -- two files, Site.Blocklist-Chongqed and
Site.Blocklist-MoinMaster are there and both dated yesterday. I don't
recall doing anything in the Wiki.D folder yesterday.
Is this normal or have I been hacked?

Well, I just announced to two small groups my wiki page and invited them to
contribute content. The site isn't perfect yet but it'll never get close
without some real-life testing.
I have no idea what security holes or issues will come up, but better now
while it's small than later, huh?
In
I installed the section edit recipe, so that I can lock the side bar from
being edited by anyone except me. But I can't see in the documentation or
recipe itself where/how the page is divided, much less how to find the side
bar specifically. Is the side bar the very first section, or the last,
WHERE can I find the recipe or option that displays a registration
form? You've been great about showing me how to set passwords and
display login boxes, but WHERE is the page I can link to that requires
the user to put in their name??? It's not much use to display a box
asking for a password
So I guess I'm nearly ready to get this wiki going -- still need to find a
way to have people register, and am still reconsidering where to put the
Action Bar.
BUT if y'all could check it out and tell me any glaring errors you see or
future problems I might be setting myself up for. I'm a
I asked this before but got myself so confused with everyone's helpful
answers I gave up . . . .
I'm using the Barthelme template. The action bar (View, Edit,
History, Print) is at the bottom right of the sidebar.
I want it to be at the top right of the content boxes.
I know very little HTML,
I think I figured it out -- I'm using a Mac, so I went to the wikid
folder/directory, did a Get Info, and then changed permissions to 755
(read and execute but not write).
Right? Or have I opened myself up to a big security mess?

Switched everything over to a new host and now when I click on Edit, I get
Warning: fopen(wiki.d/.flock): failed to open stream: Permission
denied in /Library/WebServer/WebSites/mdfloyd/public_html/index.php on
line 466
I don't see anything on line 466 to change, and I haven't changed
anything at
I deleted the .flock file, per the documentation, but that didn't
change anything.
And Enable IMS Caching in the config file is disabled.
So now what? Documentation says to change directory permission for
wiki.d to that of the user under which the web server runs.
huh?
Thanks y'all! I'm getting closer!

I've installed pmcal and it works fine -- BUT where are the previous and
future months? I don't see where/how I can add them. There was mention on
the documentation that you could extend for five years, but how? No, I
don't need five years but 9 to 12 months would be nice.
Thanks!

When I click on the word Today at the top of the calendar, the

Was the question directed to me? Nope, the order doesn't matter to me.
I went to the link -- though I didn't do a word-by-word comparison, this
looks like the same thing I was doing yesterday. Could you please show me
what's different?

much of pmwiki? Or do I just not know where to look?
Or should I just chuck it in and use one password for everyone and
quit worrying myself to death about it? Then worry about spam or
nasty postings if/when they happen . . .
I'll want to sell small ads on my site, in addition to Adsense. Is
there a template or module in PMWIKI that would allow me to block out
a small space in the side bar in which to drop the ad stuff OR allow
me to do a banner near the bottom of the page?
If it's in the cookbook, I'm not seeing it.

Before I get myself too confused . . . am I correct that I need to set
up a database first and then install the code for a stand-alone code?
What I'm trying to do is set up a registration page for user
information and the assign them a password.
The last batch of code at
I put the htpassword.php in the cookbook file, and I pasted in the

Nothing happened. Then I put (:htpasswdform:) in my Login page, where
it shows up as (:htpasswdform:) I guess I'm not understanding the
directions.
Do I need to create a file called htpasswdform and stick it
I really like the Barthelme skin, but the action bar (view, edit,
history, etc.) is at the bottom of the side bar. I'd like it at the
top of the editable page -- www.belovedparrot.com
I've checked the pmwiki.org site and I could have sworn I'd seen how
to do this, but I can't find it now.
I've looked and read everything I could find looking for an answer. I
had the site set to require my password (admin password) for anything.
Tonight I tried to release that requirement so I could work on some
pages. I've commented (#) and uncommented everything in the config
file related to my
I just upgraded to 2.2.0-beta35 but now my admin password won't work.
For admin password
$DefaultPasswords['admin'] = crypt('xxx');

$EnableUpload = 1;
$DefaultPasswords['upload'] = crypt('xx');
When I go to the site I get the standard pmwiki page, NOT the
