Hmm...
gtkgl.m4 is only required if you are actively developing gnome-python --
the same way you need imlib.m4 even if you are not going to compile
_gdkimlibmodule.so.
For just building the package from a tarball, the macro file is not
required. I was under the impression that we were moving away from
