For those interested, the current PyQt and SIP snapshots fully support Qt
v4.6. I've also ported the animation examples.
The next releases will probably be very early in the new year.

After switching my OS X Snow Leopard python default to 64-bit with:
defaults write com.apple.versioner.python Prefer-32-Bit -bool no
And then following Darren's directions, everything went fine until PyQt make
install, which proceeded without problem until
ld: library not found for -lqpygui
Never mind. I switched to the current snapshots and now everything's
working fine.
