Hi I had the exactly same problem some days ago. There is a note on the download page of Qgis saying this is expected and that there is 4 ways to handle it. I choose to revert to nightly-build repos. https://qgis.org/en/site/forusers/alldownloads.html#debian-ubuntu /Nicklas On 1/10/19

Hallo Örjan Compiling from source is quite easy because of the list of dependencies in the doc: http://hub.qgis.org/projects/quantum-gis/repository/revisions/master/entry/INSTALL The list for sid or squeeze should need very little editing (if any) I use to also compile gdal, geos, proj4 and

Hallo If you have your data stored in PostGIS you can do it directly in the database. To get a new table with the snapped points and the line attribudes you can run: CREATE TABLE line_attribute_point AS SELECT distinct on (linetable.id) linetable.*, ST_ClosestPoint(linetable.geom,

I don't think it sounds that strange. Rendering directly from a binary stream straight from PostGIS should be much faster than going through a webserver, creating an image and sending that image to QGIS. What to check is if the spatial index is properly used by QGIS Mapserver. Maybe it is using

hallo when you say that one of them is larger. what do you mean. do you mean larger extent, number of features or size of file. what i wonder is if it could be that the fast one has less complex features with less vertexes per feature. the size of the actual .shp file can give a hint.
